GLOBALGAP :
GLOBALGAP is an implementation of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) in farming companies to guarantee food safety. This framework determines important elements for the development of a world-wide production standard for agricultural and horticultural products.
GLOBALGAP distinguishes Major Musts, Minor Musts and Recommendations. Its certificate is issued to farmers following independent inspection by a recognised organisation.
GLOBALGAP also supports the principles of HACCP.
Nicolaï Fruit NV only works with fruit from GLOBALGAP-recognised farming companies.
HACCP: Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point
This preventive analysis guarantees food safety through the systematic monitoring of risk areas during the production and trading of foods.
A management system according to HACCP principles is a statutory requirement for food companies in Belgium. Also, HACCP helps us to meet the increasing demands of the consumer regarding quality and safety.
Nicolaï Fruit NV operates according to a HACCP plan since 2002.
IFS: International Food Standard
An international standard that originated in Germany and that is used for auditing companies' food safety systems so that buyers (shops or retail) can have confidence in the product.
Nicolaï fruit NV obtained the Higher Degree IFS certificate in May 2006.
